HELP US KEEP CHILD CARE ISSUES VISIBLE IN THIS ELECTION SEASON!

ESCCC asks all those who share our mission to help keep our concerns and issues visible through social media, particularly during the campaign season.  We are encouraging tweets to all candidates, but particularly those running for statewide or federal office where key funding decisions are made. Thanks to everyone who participated in the PowHer the Vote twitter storm focused on child care.

Make our voices heard in Albany and in Washington!!
Thousands of New York parents are being called back to work every day, yet New York has not released a sustainable plan to provide working families with safe, affordable child care this summer, and beyond.  We need to continue to raise our voices until Governor Cuomo, and the NYS federal delegation, hear us.

1. Please call or sent a message to Governor Cuomo by using his web site or phone line:
Web Site: https://www.governor.ny.gov/content/governor-contact-form
Phone: 518-474-8390

Here is the message:

Governor Cuomo, What About Child Care? Child Care providers need immediate funding to stay in business and to provide safe, quality  care for children. Without child care, how do you expect parents to return to work? How will our youngest children be cared for? How do you expect people to choose between the care their children need and the money to pay the bills? A reliable, secure and trusted work force is crucial to rebuilding the economy and you can't have this without child care. As a parent/ provider/concerned citizen, I am asking, why aren't you addressing this? Why aren't our children a priority?  Please tell us your plan!  Please immediately invest the remaining CARES Act Funds in the manner recommended by your Child Care Availability Task Force; release the $88M in committed state afterschool funds now, and work with us to win at least $50 billion in federal child care funding.
Stay tuned for more action steps coming up soon!
